Giving License and Encouragement to every woman with the desire to be a "Glammy Grammy". Honoring who she has been, and who she will become. Sharing with her the knowledge necessary to maintain a youthful vitality while celebrating the style and magic she offers to the future.
Daddy-O (aka; Mr. Glammy Grammy or Grumpy Grampy) wrote a letter to our four children this week. In this letter he told them what intelligent and genuinely good people they are and how proud we are of each of them (his own words of course, I’m paraphrasing). He then told them that he had lived a lot longer than they had and knew a lot more than they did about many things. The letter then went on to express his very intense feelings and opinions on a few specific subjects not really appropriate for this blog. I was very touched by this letter as were they and quite proud of him for actually doing something like this. The first I knew of “the letter” as it’s come to be known is when I was “Cc-d” as it went out to the kids. Really nice job, Daddy-O!
Regardless of age or how very much we DO know, I find one thing to be a constant and that is that there is always something to be learned if we’re just “open” to possibilities. I want to share with you just a few of the things I’ve learned (or maybe re-learned) this week.
Daddy-O is a wise man as well as a loving and concerned father/ grandfather.
Sometimes the perfect thing to say is nothing at all.
Our pets are our family, plain and simple. We care for them as such and, when we lose them the heartache is very real.
The letter “Q” is always followed by a “U” unless it is used in a name.
HAPPY CRAP is stuff we all buy or have that makes us happy at the time and we later wonder, “What was I thinking?”
Girlfriends, both old and new are a key component of our lives and nurturing those relationships is very important. I’ve made some new GF’s in the past 6 months that will be with me all my life and I love them. I’ve also had the pleasure this week of being “found” by an old and dear friend I haven’t seen for years. I realized how much I’d missed her and the fun we used to have. Can’t wait to get together and “catch up”!
Anger, though understandable and even justified some times, is counterproductive and even destructive. NO, I’m not “over it” but I’m aware and I’m working on it.
Finally, Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a beautiful gift and then keeping it to yourself.
For all the wonder and blessings in my life, THANK YOU. To all the people who love me, THANK YOU, I love you too and am so very grateful to be a part of your lives.
Love to all, GG
Thanks, I’m extremely fortunate and much blessed. In addition to that, this has been an interesting week!
Loved this!
Thanks Megan, who knew that life was just one big classroom!!
Hi Mom,
I love you with everything I have and then some… infinity… I hope I tell you that as much as I feel it and as much as you deserve to hear it. This is something that I know on a daily basis, but it is funny to me the random times that I realize it… for example… I was shaking the rugs outside and dusting the baseboards today (things that I found more than pointless and usually did while rolling my eyes). HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I am presently having the best laugh I have had in a long time! Anyhow, you are truly an amazing person that I try daily to model myself after. You teach me everything you know how to teach me and also how to learn the things that cannot be taught. For that I owe you the world, for now all I can give you is my love and friendship. (I know you are cool with that though) Anyhow, I love you to the moon!
Mimi
Oh Mimi, to the moon and then some!! I’m sure when you were rolling those big brown eyes I was busy telling you just how happy you’d be to know this stuff someday….what if you were invited to the WhiteHouse? Well, not now of course but sometime!!
Actually I have learned in playing Scrabble…qat and qi are words.
I just looked up a few more…these are sure to help me in my Scrabble game!
