Giving License and Encouragement to every woman with the desire to be a "Glammy Grammy". Honoring who she has been, and who she will become. Sharing with her the knowledge necessary to maintain a youthful vitality while celebrating the style and magic she offers to the future.
Mothers tend to process information rather quickly, it’s a gift. As our children grow we use this rapid processing both to protect and detect and usually, in that order!! Here’s the thing…that “gift” doesn’t go away when our children leave us with an empty nest in order to navigate life on their own. It simply lies dormant until needed.
So here I am with the news that I’m going to be a Grandmother…. (I’m really not fond of that word but that’s another blog)…a Grammy and my ability to rapidly process has kicked into high gear. It suddenly occurs to me that I have just received a special “dispensation” if you will an immediate justification for something that most women enjoy and do very well…..SHOPPING!!
Okay, now we’re in familiar territory…..shopping and fashion. I sense endless opportunity and several trips to one of my favorite places in the world, the mall and specifically, Aventura Mall. Beginning with fun yet professional maternity wear for my career minded daughter-in-law and working my way forward to the new car my grandson will undoubtedly deserve on his sixteenth birthday, (wow, I’d get an A+ in rapid processing) I manage to spend well into the six figures in less than five minutes. Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, maybe a baby boutique or two and then off to test drive a Hummer or something that will hold all his sporting equipment!
This being a Grandmother…Oops, a Grammy, looks like it’s going to be more fun than I originally thought!
interesting article. I would love to follow you on twitter.
