Just the word “summer” conjures up images of children playing in the water, picnics, and trips to the zoo. Family vacations in the minivan, and what might be the most asked question of this or any summer, “are we there yet?” I made that very inquiry just a couple weeks ago as we were driving to Denver. A beautiful Sunday morning dawns, truly one of God’s finest. I’ve enjoyed my first week here and have begun to get the hang of this “relaxation” thing. I think I could be pretty good at it too! Like most weekend mornings here, this day will see lots of activity out on the water. What’s different about it is that I’ll be ‘sailing, sailing, sailing the ocean blue’. Like most women I have an aversion to reptiles. I don’t use the word “hate” often but I feel comfortable using it here……I HATE reptiles and snakes, specifically!!! When I knew I was going to be visiting the Virgin Islands I immediately did a little checking about the “snake” situation. You see, I’d read that part of the Island of St. Croix is Rain Forest and those two words used together automatically make me think “snake”!
